One month until 2!

The summer is already flying by. Maddie starts her second session of swim lessons for the summer this weekend and I'm sure she'll love it. She seems to love swimming even trying to swim in the bath tub. Her favorite phrase is "I don't like" about EVERYTHING and it comes out sounding like 'unt 'ike, 'unt 'ike, mommy!! She pretty much doesn't like anything when asked. Anything is cause for a complete melt down these days.
Besides the crankiness, she's so much fun to be around. Always looking to play with something especially her new obsession with bracelets. I bought some big gaudy ones on clearance at Kohl's and they are apparently the best thing ever. She loves to watch her show before bed, the Wonderpets.
We're doing a low key family only party this year for her birthday and I'm thinking of getting some sort of decorations so she'll be excited. Right now its tied between pooh, minnie mouse, wonder pets and sesame street. She loves them all.
I'm hoping she'll get some fun things for her birthday for a slightly older toddler as most of her toys are a bit babyish.

An awesome bike trailer to carry her around on bike rides
A helmet to keep her noggin safe
A little play house for our back yardA toddler lap top (pooh of course)
Mr Potato Head
Some toddler aged books
Handy Manny's tool box

 A cute sand box

June 2010

What can I say. The terrible twos are upon us. Little Miss Maddie is testing her limits left and right. She is what people call a "spirited" child, but she is so much fun! She chatters up a storm and I couldn't even begin to guess how many words she knows. She says a few words at a time in short sentences and it seems like she's grown three inches the past few weeks. She's the size of the average 3 year old. Her favorite past times are going to the grocery store to ride in the Handy Manny cart car, going to the park to go down the slide a million times and going to swim lessons on Saturday mornings. Maddie has started sitting on the potty and loves to try and go while she is on there. She is often successful and very pleased with herself. She doesn't get when she has to go though so we won't be pushing it on her anytime soon. We still haven't seen the emergence of the two year molars, but I am guessing they are right around the corner waiting to rear they ugly selves. I tried to measure how tall she is and she's about 34 1/2 inches and still weighing in at about 29 lbs.

21 months/ May 2010

Maddie amazes me every day. Everytime she speaks, she says a new word. She's got mimicking down to a science. She was feeling a little under the weather this weekend. We started swim lessons again for the summer this past weekend. She loves it and the GPCC got a new little slide which she goes down all by herself.

20 months and new play area

Here are a couple pics of our living room where Maddie's toys will be set up. I will post most pics when I have the foam flooring down and will hopefully be getting a book shelf soon.

Here a few pictures of Maddie over the past month. She is so funny sometimes and definately very strong willed. She is constantly on the go and loves to get into things. Her vocabulary has exploded and she speaks so much now and also mimics things that we say. She is still sleeping 6pm-6am and is getting all four of her canine teeth in now. She is also still madly in love with pooh (and tigger too).

Wish list Wednesday

We've finally gotten Maddie's play area complete. I am so excited and I am going to post some pictures of it in the next couple days when I get around to it. I ordered an alphabet foam play mat from One Step Ahead that I can't wait to put down.

I also need to get some sort of book case and I don't know what I want yet. This one also from OSA is really cute. I think I am going to look at Home Goods to see if there is anything there on sale that is more unique and cheaper.

She loves the new area with all of her toys and it finally gets them all out of our family room. She now has access to the whole house as opposed to the gate keeping her in the family room since she can now go down the step between it and our kitchen safely. Now... just to get locks for the cabinet with her snacks in them. I think IKEA sells ones that work perfectly with the kitchen cabinets we have from them.

Wish list Wednesday (a day late)

Easter is fast approaching and I still haven't gotten Maddie an easter basket. I have been coveting this one from Pottery Barn Kids since last year, but didn't but it because who gives a 7 month old Easter Candy, not me! I think I might wait until next year until she can be a bit gentler with her belongings, but I still like to look! Pottery barn kids has all sorts of cute things. I've also been eyeing their toddler bedding sets for when Maddie starts sleeping in her toddler bed. The Brooke, Sweet Lambie and the Daisy garden Sets are so cute!

No mommy

Maddie's favorite word right now is no... no mommy.... no no no..... no more. She is starting to show signs of the terrible twos. Getting frustrated when she doesn't get her way, stomping her feet, crying and whining. We have 18 month appointment tommorow. Here are a few pics from the past week or two. We got alot of snow in the past week and Maddie actually liked it this time. The last snow I brought her out and she hated it. We stayed home two days and she was dying to get out of the house by the end of it.
DJ is putting in laminant flooring in our living room and spray painted the floor before putting it down :-)
